This set contains modeling decals with the markings of the two-seat trainer version of the MiG-21 fighter, the MiG-21U and MiG-21UM Mongol, in 1:48 scale from DP Casper. It is an aftermarket accessory, not a kit: the decals serve to mark an already built plastic model of the MiG-21U/UM. The enclosed instructions give the exact number and wording of the individual markings.
The MiG-21 Mongol was the two-seat trainer version of the most widespread Soviet supersonic fighter. The MiG-21U version was among the first trainer variants, and the later MiG-21UM brought modernized avionics and changes to the airframe. The tandem arrangement of the two cockpits served to convert pilots onto the MiG-21 type; the machines flew with the Soviet Air Force and with a range of other operators all over the world.
Apply the decals to a finished and clear-coated model, ideally onto a gloss coat, with the usual technique using water and a decal softener if needed; once dry, even the surface out with a matte or semi-gloss clear coat. The set contains no plastic and no kit, as it is intended as an accessory to a base MiG-21U/UM model in 1:48 scale.
