The Bedford QL was a British three-ton truck with all-wheel drive and one of the workhorses of the British Army of the Second World War. Vehicles of this family carried everything from ammunition to field workshops, and their angular cab became one of the recognition marks of British convoys. The QLT version was adapted for carrying troops: it received a lengthened closed body with benches, into which a whole infantry section fitted complete with its kit. Unremarkable vehicles of this sort tend to be rarer in collections than tanks, and yet no advance could have managed without them.
The model in 1:72 scale comes finished, assembled and painted, with the markings of the British Army in northwestern Europe in 1944 and 1945. Nothing is glued or sprayed on; it is enough to unpack it and stand it in a display case. What is captured is the vehicle at a particular time and in particular service rather than a generic representation, so it complements a collection ordered by battlefield well.
It will be appreciated by collectors of Allied vehicles and by those who want to add the rear echelon to their tanks, that is the vehicles that carried men and supplies. The 1:72 scale keeps the proportion with other vehicles and aircraft of the same size, so the model fits into a collection and into a finished scene. When carrying it, it is wiser to hold the vehicle by the chassis than by the body or by the rearview mirrors.
A finished model is supplied. It is not a kit, so the package holds no glue, paints or decals, and a display case or a base is not included either, unless stated otherwise.
