An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Tiger I heavy tank in its early form in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The early production machines were originally designated Ausf.H1 and were later renamed Ausf.E, so it is the same vehicle in its initial shape. The kit captures the early production version with the matching hull and turret details; according to the manufacturer it offers several marking options. The Tiger I was a German heavy tank committed from 1942. It became famous for its heavy armor and its effective 8.8 cm gun derived from an anti-aircraft gun, with which it could destroy Allied tanks at long range. The early machines had the typical cylindrical commander's cupola, round hatches and one-piece armor; many details changed as production went on. Despite its high combat value the Tiger was complicated and expensive to build and to run, and relatively few of them were made.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Assemble and paint the running gear with its interleaved road wheels before the hull is closed up. Apply a primer and the colors with an airbrush and put the decals on over a gloss varnish. Bring the thick armor to life with a dark wash in the welds and along the edges, and lay pigments for mud and dust effects onto the running gear. Early Tigers can be finished in a single period shade as well as in camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
