A plastic kit of four figures of German infantrymen of the First World War in a scene before an attack, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The moments before an attack were among the hardest an infantryman faced on the Western Front. The men waited in the trench for the agreed signal, checked their weapons and equipment and tried to stay as low as possible. The four figures capture exactly this state of waiting, when there is no fighting but the tension is palpable. Thanks to the simple coloring of its equipment, the German infantry of the First World War is a rewarding subject in which work with shadows and with dirt stands out.
The package carries injection-molded plastic parts for assembling four figures in 1:35 scale. The figure of an adult man works out at roughly 50 mm in this scale. The figures are divided into several parts, infantry weapons and equipment are part of the moldings and everything is joined with cement for polystyrene.
It pays to clean up the parting lines, to fill the seams on the arms and the torso and to sand them down, because such marks are clearly visible on a figure. Heads and hands are more easily painted separately and fitted at the end. It is good to play the base tone of the uniform out with highlights on the stretched parts of the cloth and shadows in the folds, and a final dusting unifies the whole group with the base of the diorama as well.
The kit is for builders of dioramas and for modelers who want to add a crew or infantry escort to a scene from the First World War. Paints, glue, a base and diorama accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
