An injection-molded plastic kit of the British supersonic fighter Lightning in 1:72 scale. It comes from the classic Frog tooling, which in later years was also reissued under the Novo brand. This is therefore an older, reissued kit with simpler parting lines and engraving, typical of models of its era.
The Lightning was a British supersonic interceptor from the Cold War era. It was notable for its unusual arrangement of two engines stacked one above the other and for its exceptional rate of climb, which made it one of the fastest-climbing fighters of its time, reaching speeds around twice the speed of sound. It served as a key interceptor of the Royal Air Force (RAF).
With older tooling, expect more careful cleanup of parting lines, possible flash, and some fitting of parts. Glue with liquid cement for plastic, fill and re-sand the joints as needed. Apply a primer before painting, spray the airframe's metallic shades with an airbrush, and finish with the appropriate markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
