Gunze Mr.Color Spray S080 Cobalt Blue (Semi Gloss)

A modeling spray from the lacquer Mr.Color range by the Japanese brand Gunze. The Cobalt Blue shade is a saturated, darker cobalt blue with a faint cast toward purple and a semi-gloss finish. It is an aerosol meant for spraying straight from the can, so you need neither an airbrush nor a compressor. Watch out: it is not an acrylic – it is a solvent-borne lacquer that behaves by a different chemistry than paints thinnable with water.

Use

• shake the can thoroughly before and during the work (for at least a minute after the ball starts to rattle)
• spray in several thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 cm, never one thick coat
• work in warm, dry conditions – cold and damp cause dulling and graining
• suitable for custom cars, aircraft, naval subjects and robots and mecha, wherever you want a strong blue
• the lacquer attacks bare plastic – on sensitive parts consider a base coat of primer

Who it is for

For modelers who want a fast and even opaque coat without an airbrush and are not afraid of working with lacquer. A semi gloss surface is a good base under decals and for subsequent weathering.
