The set contains 3D printed resin covers and plugs that technicians fit to a parked Su-27 aircraft, in 1:32 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory thanks to which the model looks like a machine parked between sorties. The print holds the soft-looking shapes of the covers as well as the small tie-down straps and flags.
The Su-27 has large air intakes and exhaust nozzles, which are blanked off on the ground so that dirt, moisture and birds do not get inside. The pressure probes, the sensors and the optical windows of the electro-optical systems are covered as well. The covers tend to be of strikingly colored fabric or plastic and carry lettering or flags, so that nobody forgets to take them off before a flight. In pictures of parked Flankers they are unmissable.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Number the small parts before you cut them off the supports, because once separated they are easily mixed up.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
