A detail set from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. According to the manufacturer it holds blanking plugs for the air intakes, the exhaust nozzles and the boundary-layer bleed grilles, which protect the engines from foreign objects, dust and dirt, and further wheel chocks for securing a parked aircraft.
On the deck of an aircraft carrier plugging a parked aircraft matters even more than at a land base: salt spray and a strong wind get moisture and small objects into the intakes within moments. Like the other aircraft of the Su-27 family, the Su-33 has boundary-layer bleed grilles in the lower part of the intakes, which are covered as well, and on a rolling deck the wheels are secured with chocks.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pad. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. In practice the plugs were painted in conspicuous warning shades, most often red, and often carried ribbons with lettering, so on an otherwise gray model they catch the eye at once. The chocks under the wheels used to be wooden or rubber. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
