A resin set of landing gear legs for a model of the Su-33 carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. For the sets in this series the manufacturer states printing from a strong polymer reinforced with steel pins, and the extended position with the lines, the landing lights and a fender picked out. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The Su-33 launches from a deck over a ski-jump ramp and lands onto arresting wires, so its landing gear takes incomparably harder treatment than on the land-based version: the machine touches down with its full weight and without a flare. The structure is therefore markedly reinforced and it differs from the land-based Su-27. It is exactly this difference that is one of the details worth attention on a model of the carrier version.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the legs before fitting and bring the lines out with a dark tone. On carrier hardware, weathering that leans toward gray suits the model, matching the salt haze, with a hint of corrosion on the edges.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
