Meng Tweezers Precision Flat-Tip are stainless steel modeling tweezers with flat bent tips for a firm hold on small parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
These modeling tweezers from the Chinese brand Meng are made of stainless steel and polished to a mirror shine. The tips are flat and bent slightly forward, so a part is held across the whole face of the tip and does not slip. The body is deliberately reinforced. Stiffness tends to be underrated in tweezers, and yet it is exactly the soft arm that spreads under pressure and sends the part being held somewhere under the table.
The pointed version suits pulling small items off the sprue and working in tight places. The flat one, by contrast, holds a surface: a photo-etched part, a decal, a small molding or a wire that has to be seated precisely and held for a while until the glue takes. Most modelers therefore end up working with both shapes and reaching for them as the situation calls.
For modelers who work with photo-etched parts and small parts and want a tool for years to come. The manufacturer states the hardness of the material at roughly HRC 30 to 35, which is a compromise between the springiness of the arms and the resistance of the tips to blunting.
The tips are sharp, so put the tweezers down in a way that nobody can be pricked by them. Do not use them as a lever; a bent arm cannot be set straight again precisely.
