A resin heavy unguided S-25O aircraft rocket in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print manages the long body and the deployed tail fins in one piece. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under the wing of a finished model.
The S-25 series ranks among the heaviest aircraft rockets of all. Unlike the small rockets carried by the dozen in pods, this one is hung singly in a launch tube under the wing. The letter O marks the version with a fragmentation warhead, intended against troops and unprotected equipment in the open. A single hit covers a substantially larger area than a salvo of small rockets, which is why the weapon was used against targets that could not be aimed at precisely.
Release the long rocket body from the supports on a flat work mat so that it does not bow. Sand the marks down with fine paper and wet sand, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Check the tail fins against the light to see whether they are twisted. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
