US Earth Yellow 17ml

Vallejo Model Air US Earth Yellow, 17 ml

An opaque water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range. The shade is an earthy yellow with an ocher cast and belongs to the group of tones for American ground vehicles. The paint comes pre-thinned from the manufacturer, so it sprays without further adjustment, but that does not make it a glaze — it is a fully opaque paint.

Airbrush versus brush

• In the gun the thin consistency is an advantage: the paint passes even through a fine nozzle and does not clog it.
• On the brush that same property shows up as weaker coverage in a single coat. Count on three to four thin applications instead of one.
• Work quickly with the brush and do not go back into a coat that is becoming tacky, or you will smear it and create unevenness.
• For hand-painting small details, the thicker brush range from the same manufacturer is more comfortable and can be combined with this paint, because they share the same binder.
• Light earth shades generally cover less well than dark ones, so it pays to apply them over a light or neutral primer.

Who the paint is for

The paint is primarily for modelers with an airbrush, but it can be used with a brush without any worry if you accept working in several coats. It serves well as the light component of desert and earth camouflage schemes and as a base under dust weathering.
