An equidistant line cutter from U-STAR serves for engraving panel lines run at a regular distance from an edge or from the previous line.

This is a tool for engraving and panel-line work, not a part for a model. According to the name the tool is made for running lines at a regular spacing, that is, for work where the same distance has to be kept over the whole length of a part. Check the range of the spacing, the material and the construction of the guide on the box.
Why regularity matters more than depth
Looking at a finished model, the eye does not notice whether a line is a tenth deeper. It sees at once, though, that the spacings do not match, because irregularity breaks up the rhythm of the surface. That is exactly why, with repeated divisions such as deck planks, sheet-metal strips or regular hatches, a tool with a guide pays off instead of measuring each line out with a ruler.
For modelers who modify the surface of a part themselves, who build ships and vehicles with prominent sheet-metal divisions, or who take on conversions. For an unmodified box-stock build it is equipment beyond the ordinary.
Try the tool on an offcut of plastic first. Engrave with light repeated strokes and take the material off gradually, because a line that runs off course can only be put right by filling and sanding back, after which the surrounding panel lines have to be restored as well.
