The product is an aftermarket accessory, not a kit. It contains a thin metal fret with small parts created by photo-etching, which are held in it on fine bridges and are cut out of it only when used. The designation four tells this variant apart from the other frets of the range, which carry different shapes and motifs.

Photo-etched parts are used in modeling everywhere plastic cannot hold a sufficiently thin edge. A metal fret is thinner by an order of magnitude than the finest injection-molded detail, so the result looks more convincing. With a universal range you moreover choose the parts yourself by shape and size, you are not tied to a particular model and you can combine several frets together. That freedom gives room for your own ideas, but at the same time it means you have to think the placement of the details through in advance.

Use

• Before cutting, think the placement of a part through and try it dry.
• Separate a part with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface, not by twisting.
• Level the remainder of the bridge with a fine file or a sanding block.
• Make a bend over an etching bender or a straight edge, bending the metal slowly and only once.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger parts rather with two-part epoxy.
• Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a base coat for metal.
