A cutting blade from the Etch Slide tool line. It ranks among hand tools for cutting and parting material, that is, among the part of the equipment that decides the cleanliness of seams and edges far more than the paint itself does. The blade is a consumable part: the edge blunts with work, and changing it in time saves more work than the most careful cutting with a blunt tool. Which holder or tool the blade is meant for and how it is clamped into it is given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut on a hard surface or on a cutting mat, never on the table top and never toward yourself. Make the cut with repeated light passes and let the edge do the work; pressure will rather crush the material and the blade may slip. Keep the hand that holds the material out of the path of the cut. As soon as the edge starts to tear the edges or to snag in the cut, change the blade.
After work, wipe the blade dry and store it so that the cutting edge does not rub against anything, ideally in its original packaging or in a closed box. Damp and abrasion are the two things that ruin an edge fastest. Put worn blades aside separately, not loose into the waste, and out of the reach of children.
A holder, a tool and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
