Model Craft Flexible Sanding Stick 90 x 19 x 12 mm (P60–P1000)

Flexible Model Craft sanding sticks measuring 90 x 19 x 12 mm with six grits: P60, P100, P240, P400, P600 and P1000. The sticks are double-sided — each carries two grits that follow on from each other logically. This is a modeling tool, not a kit.

Two Things That Make It Worthwhile

• Six grits from P60 to P1000. You can cover the whole process from a single tool — from rough removal (P60, P100) through leveling and smoothing (P240, P400) to fine finishing and preparation for paint (P600, P1000). No need to assemble a set from several different tools.
• Flexibility. The stick bends and conforms to rounded and irregular shapes — fuselages, cowlings, rounded car bodies, curved panels — exactly where a rigid file or a flat block does not work and risks sanding a flat spot into the surface.

Use

• Always work from coarser to finer grit. A lower number means coarser abrasive, a higher one finer. A typical path: P60/P100 for flash, gate remnants and rough leveling, P240/P400 for leveling filler and seams, P600/P1000 for the final finish.
• A fine grit will not smooth out scratches left by a coarse one — it only polishes them. A classic beginner's mistake: the surface looks glossy, but every coarse scratch shows through under paint. So do not skip a step.
• For flat areas, keep the stick straight; on curves, bend it slightly and guide it along the shape, not across it.
• Where the plastic and joint allow, sand wet — less dust, the abrasive clogs less, and the result is smoother. The stick can be rinsed and left to dry.

For modelers working with rounded shapes — aircraft fuselages and cowlings, ship hulls, car bodies, figures — who want the full range of grits on hand. The range from P60 to P1000 covers both rough leveling and surface preparation before painting.
