About product

Real Colors RC841 French F1 Yellow, 17 ml

A modeling acrylic paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, the manufacturer's part number RC841, 17 ml. The name ties the shade to French Formula 1 cars of the 1970s and 1980s, that is, to the yellow that appeared on their bodywork at the time.

Where you will use the shade

The natural place is the bodywork of a model racing car from that period, where yellow makes up the main area. But it also comes into its own on sports cars of other classes, on motorcycle fairings and on accessories where you are looking for a warmer yellow rather than a cold lemon one.

How to work with the paint

  • Stir the contents thoroughly before taking any out; the pigment settles at the bottom.
  • Yellow shades have weak covering power; apply them onto a white primer, otherwise the base will shift the tone toward green or gray.
  • Apply thin coats and let them dry in between; full richness comes only with the third or fourth.
  • For thinning and for cleaning, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Check the final tone on a test sample, not straight on the bodywork.

Storage and packaging

Close the bottle carefully and store it away from heat and frost. Paint that has thickened can be thinned, but check the shade after thinning away from the model.

The package contains one bottle of paint of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

Yellow shades cover weakly and a dark base shifts them toward green or gray. A white primer keeps the tone clean.

The bottle holds 17 ml of paint.

Count on several thin coats; full richness usually comes only with the third or fourth. One heavy coat floods the surface detail.

The thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
