Greyish Green Wash from the Wargame Series range

Greyish Green Wash is a toning liquid by AK interactive ready to use straight from the bottle. It is applied with a brush, runs into the folds and recesses and once dry leaves a darker gray-green deposit there. The gray shift in the shade has a practical reason: it knocks the intensity of the base back, so the result does not look artificially fresh.

What a gray-green tone solves

Green colors often have greater intensity on a model than reality calls for. Uniforms, tarpaulins, packs and painted vehicles in the field are dusty and faded, and that is exactly what a gray-green wash imitates. Besides shading the folds it therefore also serves as a tool that reduces the sharpness of the base green and draws it together with its surroundings. On figures it proves itself on the fabric parts, where the folds need clear shadow, and on vehicles in the places where dirt holds.

Procedure

• Shake the bottle before use so that the contents are even.
• Apply it to an articulated surface and let the liquid run into the folds.
• Take the surplus off the raised surfaces with a half-dry brush before it dries.
• If you want to reduce the intensity of a whole area, draw a thin pass evenly over the surface.
• Handle thinning, cleaning and any varnishing according to the manufacturer's instructions on the label.
