A set of two sheets of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) 1.0 mm thick in A4 format (approximately 210x300 mm) from Master Tools. A thicker sheet serves where stiffness and strength are needed, for load-bearing bulkheads, bases and structural parts in scratch-building.
A thicker sheet is cut by scoring it repeatedly with a knife and then snapping it, and it is sanded and bonded with cement for plastic or with super glue. Once primed, it takes modeling paints as usual.
