An acrylic ink from the maker Green Stuff World from the Intensity Ink range. Inks are a category of their own in figure painting: they are worked with differently from ordinary paints and modelers traditionally bring them in where the point is toning a finished surface, deepening shadows or mixing into shades of your own. This shade lies in a fiery orange and is used everywhere warmth and the movement of light are to be felt on a figure.
A fiery orange serves well as an intermediate step between red and yellow, so it suits applying it in layers and moving smoothly between shades. Shake the bottle before use and apply the ink with a brush over smaller areas, so that you keep control of the result. It pays to work in layers and to judge the result only once dry, because a wet and a dried tone look different. Before you touch the figure itself, make a test coat to one side.
