A poisonous greenish yellow shade from the IONIC modeling line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez, intended above all for figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
Poison Yellow belongs to the group of yellows in the IONIC line that break toward green. In the numbering of the line it sits next to a slime yellow and is followed straight away by a plasma green, so it is clear what the shade is aiming at: surfaces that look poisonous, where the viewer is meant to get an immediate signal not to touch them. It is exactly this kind of color that carries most of the visual effect on figures of wizards, mutants and the undead, on science fiction equipment, on warning stripes and on the contents of chemical tanks.
Most often it goes on fantasy and science fiction figures, but the shade works outside them too. Glowing displays, coolants, corrosion weeping on drums, markings for hazardous cargo or bright elements on posters in a diorama: in all of those you need a yellow that does not look natural and that stands out against a muted palette around it.
Richly pitched yellows and greens generally have weaker covering power, so it pays to apply them over a light base and in two or three thin coats rather than one heavy one. Make the transition into shadow with a glaze, not with an admixture of black, or the shade will quickly go gray. If you want a glow effect, add a very faint touch of the same tone to the surface around the area.
The range of this line is wide and is built so that the shades pass into one another across the whole spectrum, including many skin tones. Putting together a coherent palette for a single figure from it is therefore easy.
