A medium flat brush with synthetic hair and a straight edge from Italeri. Size 3 is a versatile middle course: larger than size 1, so it covers more area at once, and yet still controllable enough for everyday work on a model.

• Base coats on smaller and medium-sized parts
• Even areas without streaks and with sharp transitions
• Drybrushing of medium intensity — bringing out edges and the texture of relief
• Acrylic thinned with water, enamel and synthetics with the matching thinner
