Khaki Green

An acrylic paint from AMMO of Mig Jimenez, thinnable with water. It belongs to the range in which the manufacturer keeps the shades for painting figures, so alongside the flesh tones there are colors for uniforms and gear. Khaki green is a classic uniform tone, used on figures as the base coat for clothing and as the starting point from which you work toward the shadows and the highlights.

How to work with the paint

• Shake the contents thoroughly before use, as the pigment in an acrylic settles to the bottom.
• On a figure lay the base tone on in thin coats with a brush and let each coat dry, so that the folds and seams stay legible.
• Handle shadows and highlights with separate shades or by mixing; building up in layers gives a more convincing result than one heavy coat.
• For the airbrush thin the paint with water or acrylic thinner as needed and try the ratio on a test piece.
• Do not thin it with lacquer or cellulose thinner, as that is a different chemistry.
• Degrease the surface and treat it with a primer, especially on resin figures.
