Masking sheets for the cockpit canopy and the wheel disks of a MiG-21F-13 model in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21F-13 belongs to the early production versions of the famous Soviet fighter. Against the later forms it has a slimmer spine, a smaller fuel load and simpler armament, so the silhouette is cleaner and the difference is clearly visible on a model. It was precisely this version that became the pattern for licensed and derived production outside the Soviet Union, and it is represented in the modeling ranges to this day.
The set holds masks for the cockpit canopy and for the wheel disks. The cockpit frame of the MiG-21 is divided and its lines run across a curved surface, where tape holds badly and a brush leaves an uneven width. A cut mask holds the shape and the spraying has a crisp edge. The second part of the set aims at the wheels, where the disk is separated from the rubber tire. Both are among the jobs that without masks take more time than building the airframe itself.
Wash the clear parts only in lukewarm water, as solvent will cloud them. Lay the mask down from the middle and press the edges with a blunt toothpick, so that paint cannot run under it. Spray in thin coats and take the mask off shortly after it has dried, not after several days, when the adhesive holds more strongly. Before you glue the canopy onto the model, try its fit dry. Wipe any adhesive residue left by the mask off with a dry cotton bud; alcohol does not belong on a clear part.
The set of masks is supplied on its own. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise.
