A modeling paint from Hataka's Orange Line, the Light Blue-Grey shade, manufacturer code HTK-C036. A light gray with a blue cast.
Responsibility details are not available.
Light Blue-Grey is a light gray with a blue cast. Shades of this kind are used on models mainly on the undersides of aircraft, where they are meant to dissolve the machine optically against the sky, and further on naval subjects, where a cool gray matches the paint of ships and their armament. The name gives no reference numbers for the shade, so compare its exact appearance against the manufacturer's color chart; a verbal description can never replace the paint.
Stir the bottle well before use and during work, otherwise settled pigment shifts the shade. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow that when cleaning the tools as well. Lay the paint down in several thin coats and let each one become tacky; a single heavy coat floods the engraving and wipes out raised detail. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand.
Light shades cover more weakly than dark ones, so lay them on a light base and expect to need more coats. Try the shade first on a piece of scrap material; on a large area it reads differently than in the bottle. After drying and after a coat of varnish the tone shifts again, so judge the final match on a finished sample, not on the paint in the bottle.
The paint itself is supplied. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Close the bottle carefully after work and store it away from frost and direct sun.
