Masking Sheets - self-adhesive masking sheets to cut yourself

Universal masking material from AMMO of Mig Jimenez in the form of self-adhesive sheets. It is not a set of shaped masks for one specific kit - it is a surface from which you cut exactly the shape you need with a knife. That is why the material works across the board: on camouflage with a crisp boundary, on glazing, on masking already finished parts of a model and on protecting the surroundings during a local spray.

Use

• Cut on a cutting mat with a sharp scalpel and a fresh blade; a dull blade tears the material and the edge of the mask is then not crisp.
• Stick it only onto fully cured paint - on a fresh coat the mask grips and tears it off when removed.
• Press the edges of the mask down carefully with a toothpick or a blunt stick so that paint does not creep underneath.
• Spray at right angles to the surface and in thin coats; an angled spray runs in under the edge of the mask.
• On curved surfaces use several narrower strips rather than one wide piece - the material follows the curvature better.
• Take the mask off soon after the paint has dried, slowly and at a sharp angle back over itself, not straight up.
• For a soft camouflage boundary, mask a little above the surface rather than directly on it.

Who the sheets are for

For modelers who spray with an airbrush and need to mask shapes for which no ready-made set exists - from wavy camouflage fields through straight stripes to covering a canopy on an older model. They also suit dividing an area up for color modulation and working with your own stencils. Anyone looking for masks cut precisely for one specific kit is better off with a pre-cut set.

Store flat, dry and out of direct sunlight. Cut on a mat and handle the scalpel carefully; the blade is very sharp.
