Medium Tan is a light brown, sandy tone with a reference to the American standard Federal Standard 595 and the number FS 33522. The standard is used as a common language for the shades of military vehicles: building instructions and color supplements alike refer to it by number, so by that number you can tell which tone it is even when it is named differently at different manufacturers. The first digit in the five-digit number carries the information about gloss, and a three belongs to matte shades.
This is a paint from Hataka, from the Orange Line range. Shades from one range get on well with one another, so it pays to build a model within one range and not to mix products with a different binder.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, otherwise the pigments stay at the bottom and the shade comes out lighter. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the package, as a foreign thinner can curdle the paint. Light sandy tones have a lower covering power, so apply them in several thin coats and preferably over a light base of filler primer; a single heavy coat fills the engraving. Wash and degrease the model before painting, so that the paint holds on smooth surfaces too.
Thinner, brushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume of the package and the recommended thinning are given by the manufacturer on the package.
