Replacement landing gear wheels for a model of the Mi-4 helicopter in 1:48 scale. The finished parts replace the wheels from the kit and sharpen up the shape of the tire and the hub.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-4 is a Soviet multirole helicopter of the 1950s with a main rotor, a tail rotor on the tail boom and a piston engine housed in the front of the fuselage. The cargo compartment with doors at the rear made it possible to load bulky cargo, so the machine was used for transport, for airborne troops and for civil tasks. The landing gear is fixed and wheeled, so it is permanently in view on a model.
These are replacement landing gear wheels in 1:48 scale, supplied as finished parts to be glued on in place of the parts from the kit. A wheel is a simple shape but a conspicuous element: if it has an indistinct tread pattern or a coarse transition between the tire and the hub, it drags the whole model down. The number of parts and their extent are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models will not join them; use super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape is not damaged. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and lay a primer coat on them. Paint the tire and the hub separately; the boundary between them is best kept by spraying the hub and finishing the edge of the tire with a brush. Fit the wheels at the very end, once the painting of the landing gear is finished.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
