The Henschel Hs 129 was a German twin-engine attack aircraft of the Second World War, built for a single task: to come in low at a ground target and hit it. The shape of the machine follows from that. The front of the fuselage is armored, the cockpit is cramped almost beyond bearing and the view out is narrow, because protecting the pilot took precedence over his comfort. The main strength of the aircraft was its heavy gun armament: it carried cannon in the fuselage and in a pod slung beneath it, and it was that pod which made it a tool against armored vehicles on the Eastern Front.

A separately produced weapon has a finer shape than the same part from a kit, where the maker of the mold has to stay within what plastic will bear at that size. Check the exact type designation of the weapon and its position on the machine in the manufacturer's instructions and according to the version of the Hs 129 you are building.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off so that the weapon stays straight. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Fit the weapon at the end of the build, when you will no longer be turning the model in your hand. Choose a dark color and apply it thinly; the barrel should get only a thin coat, otherwise it stops reading as metal. The area around the muzzle can be emphasized with a sooty shade laid on with a dry brush.
