Modular Paint Rack - WEDGE

Modular paint rack - the WEDGE module

What it is

This is neither modeling material nor paint but equipment for the workbench. Green Stuff World treats its paint rack as a build-it-up system: you put the arrangement together from individual modules according to how many paints you have and how much room is left. This item is the module marked WEDGE, that is the wedge part of the arrangement.

Use

• add the module to the arrangement where you need to angle or tilt the row
• use it to fill a corner of the desk that a straight module would not make use of
• stack the paints so that the caps or the labels with the shade are visible
• separate the base colors from washes, varnishes and pigments, as that speeds up the search
• before buying, measure the diameter and the height of the bottles and the free space on your desk

Who it is for

For modelers who already have part of a modular arrangement built and want to extend it, or for anyone building a new arrangement who needs to run it in some way other than one straight row. It is practical above all where the desk is small and the paints have to be arranged around the working area instead of in front of it. It is a smaller additional module, not a whole shelf unit.

What to think about before buying

Modular racks have one weak point: each module reckons with a particular diameter and height of bottle. A collection put together from several brands therefore need not fit into one arrangement entirely, because tall bottles will not go into a low tier and overly narrow ones wobble in the opening. Before you extend the arrangement, measure the most common bottle you use and compare it with the module you already have at home. Think too about where the arrangement will grow: a rack leaned against a wall holds better than a free-standing one, and the higher the arrangement goes, the more a stable surface matters.

Compare the dimensions of the module with the bottles you use before buying. Neither paints nor further modules are included in the package, so think through what you need for the arrangement.
