A modeling paint from the Aqua line by brand Mr.Paint in the shade RLM 81 Braunviolett, variant I. Code MRP-A073.
Responsibility details are not available.
Braunviolett is the German name for a brown-violet shade, to which the German aviation standard RLM assigned the number 81. It belongs to the group of shades from the late phase of the Second World War that appeared on German aircraft in upper-surface camouflage schemes. The manufacturer offers the shade in two variants; this one is labeled variant I.
Smooth, wash, and degrease the surface, and mix the bottle thoroughly before use. Apply in several thin coats with a short pause between them — a single heavy coat floods panel-line detail and builds up ridges at the edges. Thin with the thinner designated for this paint line; a thinner from a different line can curdle the paint into grains. You will find the thinning ratio and spray-gun pressure in the manufacturer's instructions.
Late German schemes were sprayed quickly and in the field, so the transitions between fields tended to be soft and irregular. Spray from a shorter distance at low pressure and guide the boundary freehand, or use a mask held up above the surface so the edge stays blurred. A dark brown-violet shade easily turns into a flat, solid area on a model, so lighten it inside the panels with a drop of a lighter tone once dry. Check the documentation to see which of the two offered tones suits your aircraft.
For modelers of German aircraft building subjects with a late-war camouflage scheme. This is a standalone shade; the thinner and other accessories are supplied separately, unless stated otherwise.
