A silver model paint from the Aqua line of Mr.Paint, the manufacturer's part number MRP-A012. A metallic shade for unpainted surfaces and chipped spots.
Responsibility details are not available.
Silver is the basic metallic shade of a modeling palette. It covers unpainted skins, wheel hubs, landing gear legs, the insides of covers and the chipped spots where bare metal works its way through the finish. It differs from steel in being lighter and cooler, so it suits glossy surfaces rather than parts under thermal load.
Metallic shades give away every unevenness beneath them. Smooth the surface with a fine abrasive, wash and degrease it and even it out with a smooth dark base. Stir the container thoroughly before application, because the metallic pigment settles at the bottom and paint taken from the top tends to be weaker. Apply thin coats, since a heavy coat floats the pigment into the unevenness and the area stays patchy. Thin with a thinner intended for this paint line; the thinning ratio is in the manufacturer's instructions.
A metal surface should not be the same along its whole length. When you set the individual panels slightly apart, the model stops looking like a single sprayed piece. Apply masking tape to a well dried coat and reduce its tack beforehand by sticking it to the back of your hand, otherwise it can tear the metallic layer off. Count on a clear coat applied over metal taking some of the shine away as well. If you are clear coating for the sake of decals, leave the metal areas for last or apply the clear coat as thinly as possible.
For modelers who build aircraft with an unpainted skin, vehicles with chipped edges or anything where a metallic look is involved. It is a single shade, and the thinner and other accessories are supplied separately, unless stated otherwise.
