A kit of the Z II mobile suit from the Gundam universe, made by the Japanese company Bandai. The model is snap-fit: the parts are already colored in the plastic and snap together, so you need neither glue nor paints for the build. Anyone who wants to can still spray the model and pick out the panel lines. Bandai sorts its kits into ranges that differ in how demanding the build is.
The MSZ-008 Z II belongs to the development line that follows on from the famous Zeta Gundam machine, from the era fans know by the name Zeta Gundam. It is an advanced mobile suit with a transformable structure, that is, with the ability to go from humanoid form into flight form. In shape it is more angular and sturdier than the Zeta, with prominent covers on the back and legs that form the outline of the machine in the flight position.
Separate the parts with sprue cutters a little away from the part and clean up the gate marks with a file or a sanding sponge; on light-colored parts a burr shows clearly. With transformable machines it is a good idea to dry-fit each subassembly after putting it together and find out whether the joints move freely, and only then fine-tune the model. Pick out the engraved lines with a paneliner and wipe off the excess. A matte or semi-gloss varnish will unify the surface and tone down the plastic sheen. Anyone who wants to go all the way can spray the parts with an airbrush before putting them together.
The parts are pre-colored in the plastic and snap together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build; tools and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
