Needle Chucking Guide for GHAD-68/Swallowtail leads the needle on the axis and holds it in position. An original replacement part of the Gaahleri brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The guide holds the needle on the axis of the body of the airbrush and leads it as the trigger moves it out and back in again. The manufacturer supplies it as a separate replacement part for the GHAD-68 model and for the GHAC-Swallowtail airbrushes.
According to the data of the brand the guide has three tasks: to secure the position of the needle safely, to control its movement forward and backward according to the pull of the trigger and to protect it from needless stress during dismantling. As soon as it wears or works loose, the needle gains play. It shows itself in paint coming on in a jump, in the width of the line varying under the same pull of the finger and in poorer repeatability of the setting. It tends to be one of the first things an experienced user checks when the airbrush stops drawing the way he was used to.
Before fitting, remove the residues of paint from the space around the needle, otherwise the new component will clog at the first use. Always pull the needle out and insert it toward the rear, so that the nozzle is not damaged. Regular maintenance of this part of the airbrush extends the life of the needle and the nozzle.
