About product

Aber metal mesh (net) 1.0 x 1.0 mm

A fine etched brass mesh from the Polish firm Aber with a 1.0 x 1.0 mm aperture. It is a versatile modeling material, not a model or a kit. The sheet of mesh serves for making various grilles, screens, grates and covers where plastic parts cannot reach the necessary fineness. Thanks to the regular structure of the apertures, metal mesh looks markedly more realistic.

Use

  • Grilles and grates of vehicle engine decks
  • Covers and screens of radiators, ventilation and filters
  • Fences, baskets and other scenic elements for dioramas
  • Suitable for various scales according to the aperture size needed

Usage tips

Cut the shape you need with metal shears or with a sharp knife on a hard surface. The mesh can be shaped slightly by running a rounded tool over it. It is glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with a primer, so that the paint holds.

Who it is for

For advanced modelers of vehicles, aircraft, ships and dioramas who want to replace coarse plastic grilles with fine metal. It calls for working with metal and super glue.

This is a modeling material, not a model or a kit. It serves as an accessory to a build of your own.
