Responsibility details are not available.
A hand-painted set from the Scenic Accents line of the American maker Woodland Scenics captures a scene at a newsstand, the selling of the press and the people who have stopped by it. The figures are cast from plastic resin, hand-painted and supplied finished. They are not assembled and not touched up with paint. HO scale corresponds to 1:87.
A newsstand is a classic element of a station concourse, a platform and a city sidewalk. The vignette seats a scene in a particular time at once and gives it a meaning: people are going somewhere, waiting for something, buying something. It is precisely such small vignettes that decide whether a layout comes across as a model or as a place. The set goes well with further civilian figures of the same line, because it is made in the same style and size.
Leave the sidewalk around the stand clear, because a crowded scene loses its legibility. Turn one figure with its back to the viewer, as if it were just paying; this simple trick makes the vignette livelier than even placement does. Glue them with a small drop under the soles and sand the soles lightly if need be. The gloss of the paint is unified with its surroundings by a very fine spray of matte varnish from a greater distance.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, terrain and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
