OCEAN GRAY

AK interactive Ocean Gray — modeling acrylic paint, 17 ml

A water-based acrylic paint from the AFV Series modeling line by the Spanish maker AK interactive. The Ocean Gray shade is a medium-saturated gray with a cool bluish cast, which the maker places among the American camouflage colors. Cool grays of this kind were used where the silhouette had to be suppressed against the sea and the sky. The paint comes in a bottle of 17 ml and once dry it leaves a matte surface.

Use

• It is applied with a brush as well as an airbrush; for the airbrush it is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands for a while.
• You will get the best coverage in two or three thin coats on a degreased base treated with a primer.
• Cool grays are sensitive to lighting, so always try the shade on a test piece of plastic rather than straight on the model.
• Do not thin a water-based acrylic with lacquer or enamel thinners, as the two chemistries do not go together.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who need a reliable cool gray in the American camouflage spirit, whether on equipment, gear or accessories. It also finds use in mixing your own gray-blue tones and in painting smaller parts, where a purely neutral gray would look dead. The water base allows easy thinning and cleaning without solvents.

The paint is intended for modeling use. Keep it out of the reach of children, do not swallow it and make sure there is enough ventilation and respiratory protection when spraying. Close the bottle carefully after use and protect it from frost.
