Responsibility details are not available.
An olive brown shade from the aircraft range of acrylic paints from the Spanish brand AK interactive, belonging to the set of colors of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force of the Second World War. The Japanese designation Ohryoku Nana Go Shoku is among the most characteristic shades of the upper surfaces of Japanese army aircraft. The paint has a water base, a volume of 17 ml and a satin, that is semi-matte, finish. The palette came about on the basis of detailed research into period finishes, which matters with Japanese shades, around which there is a great deal of disagreement.
This is a water-based acrylic, not an enamel and not a lacquer. It is thinned with the acrylic thinner of the same brand, or with water; solvent thinners for enamels and lacquers do not belong in the paint and would curdle the finish. The consistency is ready for an airbrush, so further thinning is usually not needed in the airbrush. With a brush, apply the paint in thin coats, which cover well. It becomes tacky quickly, and full curing of the finish takes about a day.
For builders of Japanese aircraft who want to reach for a ready, historically grounded shade instead of mixing their own. The water base suits a home workshop without extraction, and you will manage the paint both with an airbrush and with a brush.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Work in a well-ventilated space, and use a respirator and extraction when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
