A refill pack of paper sheets for a modeling palette. A consumable accessory for mixing and thinning paints; after work the sheet is simply torn off and the palette is clean again.
Responsibility details are not available.
A palette is where a modeler mixes paint, evens out a shade or prepares a transition between two tones. A paper insert carries the paint instead of the palette itself, so a plastic or metal dish does not have to be laboriously cleaned after every session and no dried remains of old shades stay in it. This package is a refill, that is, a set of sheets for a palette you already have.
Lay the sheet in the palette so that it lies flat and does not crease anywhere. Dispense the paint in smaller amounts nearer the edge and mix toward the center, so that you always have somewhere to move to. Label the shades straight away; once dry they are harder to tell apart. When the work is finished, tear the sheet off and throw it away, and the palette is ready for next time. The size of the sheets, their number in the package and the recommended way of using them are given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Before buying the package, compare the size of the sheets with your palette. The sheets can be trimmed to size, but a format that is too small will no longer cover the palette. Paper is a consumable, so expect it to soak through and soften during longer work, and mix on it with the tip of the brush rather than with pressure.
It will be appreciated by anyone who mixes paint by hand and does not want to waste time washing a palette, whether they build plastic models, paint figures or tone terrain. A palette, paints and brushes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
