A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range, part number HTK-C223, a blue-gray shade listed under the name Pigeon Blue with the number RAL 5014.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pigeon Blue is a muted blue with a pronounced gray cast. The number RAL 5014 places it in the European RAL chart, where the numerical designation defines a shade unambiguously and independently of the manufacturer; the 5000 series belongs to blue tones. On a model the shade behaves more like a gray with a blue undertone than like a saturated blue, especially over large areas and in daylight. So judge the final appearance against the chart and the label, as neither a print nor a screen can stand in for the shade.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before work, otherwise the pigment stays settled at the bottom and the shade drifts. Use the thinner that is made for this range and keep the thinning ratio and the way of applying it to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Apply several thin coats with a pause instead of one heavy one; a heavy coat fills in the engraving and the fine surface detail disappears. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand, as paint holds poorly on greasy plastic and tears when the masking tape is lifted.
It suits wherever you need a calm gray-blue to the chart number given, whether on continuous areas or as a base for further shading. Work in a well-ventilated area and close the bottle carefully after taking paint out, so that it does not thicken.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume of the package is given on the packaging.
