The Plank Bending Tool Kit from Model Craft is an electrically heated tool for shaping wooden strips while building ship models. It is not a kit and not a model, but an aid that makes it easier to bend planks accurately into the curve you need without breaking them. The set contains a heated tool powered from the mains and a shaping template.

Use

• You run the heated rounded tip along a wooden strip laid on the template and gradually press the curvature you need into it.
• Dry strips up to about one millimeter thick can be bent directly; thicker ones are best dampened before shaping.
