A textured polystyrene sheet with a metal roof pattern. The spacing of the corrugations comes to nine and a half millimeters and the sheet measures fifteen by thirty centimeters. It is sold in single pieces. It is a building material, not a kit: roofs, cladding and walls are cut from the sheet to your own design.
Part the sheet by scoring along a rule and snapping it at the score, not by cutting right through. Always run the cut along a corrugation, not across it, otherwise the edge will fray. It is glued with ordinary cement for polystyrene, which dissolves the joint and welds it. A metal roof looks best over a dark base, with a rich color and rust completed by pigments into the joints and along the overlaps. Set the individual sheets apart by a small difference of shade, because a real roof never has a uniform color.
