About product

Orange pollen for hibiscus and daffodils

Orange has a special position in a flower scene. It is pronounced enough for a viewer to find it even on a large area, and at the same time it does not come across as aggressively as a pure red. A lily carries orange anthers on long filaments, a hibiscus has an open flower with a rich inside and a daffodil a corona that tends to be darker than the perianth. All three belong in a garden where something is meant to be going on.

The shade proves itself as a mediator too. When a scene holds yellow as well as red flowers, orange between them forms the transition thanks to which a bed does not look divided into two halves. A small amount is enough for that, because a rich color works even in small doses. The volume of the package is 29.4 cm3, that is 1.8 cubic inches.

Richness without overdoing the color

The rule is to work in small amounts. In a small scale orange saturates very quickly and an area then reads as a patch of color without texture. The procedure advised is to apply one thin layer, to let it dry and only then to judge whether more is needed. Taking it away can be done only by hand and with the risk of damaging the surroundings.

Besides a garden the shade finds a use in dusty scenes. Rubbed into the chassis of a vehicle it suggests ocher soil, and scattered over sheet metal it fills out a trace of rust where a purely brown pigment would look too old. It is always a matter of doses on the tip of a tool, not of spreading.

During the work it pays off to keep the package closed and to pour out only into the lid. A rich pigment is easily carried into the other shades and spoils them, because the lighter ones will no longer take it.

FAQ

Because a rich shade can hardly be taken away. A thin layer is left to dry and the result is judged. If the color is weak, more is added. The reverse procedure ends with an area without texture, from which the material is removed by hand and at a risk.

Rather as a complement. For continuous leaves a coarser foliage in a matching color tends to be more suitable, whereas the fine powder finds a use as a scatter of fallen leaves on a road or as an accent on individual branches.

Best by using all three in a bed and placing the orange between the other two. The transition then looks natural. Mixing the shades in a container beforehand is possible too, but the result is harder to repeat.

It may, so it is poured out only into the lid or onto a piece of paper and nothing is returned to the main package. A rich pigment tells in other shades even in a trace amount and lighter materials can no longer be brought back to their original tone.
