A precision modeling saw for resin with two levels of tooth fineness.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cast resin behaves differently from polystyrene. It is harder and more brittle and splits under a rough cut, so a casting block broken off often takes a piece of the edge of the part with it. An ordinary modeling saw with large teeth also leaves a ragged edge that then takes a long time to level. This tool therefore has teeth in two levels of fineness: the coarser side takes the surplus material away, while the finer side works the last tenth of a millimeter right at the part itself.
Cut by pulling towards yourself and without pressure; force does not help here, it only leads to the part cracking. The safest approach is to cut the block off with a few millimeters to spare and sand the remainder flat, because an incomplete cut can still be put right, whereas a projection once cut off cannot. Small parts are best held in tweezers or left on the block until they are painted. Resin dust belongs neither in your lungs nor on the worktop, so it suits to cut over a damp cloth and then wipe the bench rather than blow it clean. The blade itself will last a long time if the settled dust is brushed off with an old brush after work and it is stored so that the teeth do not rest against other tools in the drawer.
