A solid plastic strip with a section of 1.5 x 6.3 mm and a length of 35 cm. It is supplied as a single piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
A wide and yet strong strip suits anywhere a continuous surface with a sharp edge is to be made. It yields ship deck planking, battens on a barn door, wall cladding, the ends of cargo crates, the edges of platforms, the ties of a narrow-gauge line or the wooden formwork of concrete walls. The ratio of thickness to width also allows a whole panel to be built up from several pieces side by side with no visible backing.
The section is 1.5 by 6.3 millimeters, one rod measures 35 centimeters and it is supplied individually. Such a length yields a surprisingly large area, especially when the individual pieces are laid tightly side by side.
You create wood texture by drawing a wire brush or the point of a rotary tool along the grain; styrene bites easily and once painted the result gives convincing growth rings. Ends that are meant to look worn are thinned into a wedge with a file. When building up a larger panel, stick double-sided tape to a board, seat the pieces on it side by side and only then join them by running glue along the back.
Because of its width, the strip can bow slightly if glue is applied to one side only; let it dry weighted down with a flat object. A part that has dried flat will keep its flatness later too.
At a width of just over six millimeters, one rod cut up and stacked tightly side by side covers an area roughly the size of a palm. For larger walls, therefore, allow for several rods and get them all at once, so that they have the same shade and thickness.
