A profile in the shape of a quarter round, 0.75 millimeters in size. It creates a rounded transition in the corner between two perpendicular surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
A quarter-round profile has two straight sides meeting at a right angle and a third rounded one. It is laid into the internal corner between two perpendicular surfaces and creates the smooth transition that arises on real structures from welds, filler or pressing. Without it the joint of two flat parts looks sharp and model-like.
The profile is laid into the corner of a structure that is already glued together, not while it is being assembled. Liquid cement is applied into the corner and the profile laid into it, and capillary action then seats it by itself. Three quarters of a millimeter is a small size, so it pays to work with tweezers and to have shorter pieces cut in advance.
Once dry, the rounding can be sanded lightly to soften the transition still further. One piece measures 35 centimeters in length and is sold separately.
Three quarters of a millimeter is at the limit of visibility in the usual scales, so the result looks like a subtle softening of an edge rather than an added part. On larger models, therefore, reach for a thicker version of the same range.
Degrease the surface before painting, as the material carries a fine film from manufacture.
