PROTECTIVE MC 1200

What kind of paint this is

A modeling paint listed under the designation Protective MC 1200 and the manufacturer's catalog number A.MIG-0053, placed in the AMMO of Mig Jimenez range. Both the Protective designation and the MC 1200 suffix come from the manufacturer's own naming; which real subject and which color standard the shade aims at is not further specified, and the binding reference is the sample on the packaging.

Application and thinning

Mix the contents of the bottle thoroughly right down to the bottom before use, because the pigment settles when it stands for a long time and unmixed paint dries unevenly. Use the thinner intended for this line and set the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer instructions on the packaging. Apply in thin coats and let each one become tacky; a single heavy coat floods the fine relief and tears when you mask. Try out how it behaves in a mixture with paints of other brands on a scrap piece of plastic, not straight on the model.

Painting tips

Wash and degrease the surface of the model before painting, because fingerprints on smooth plastic only stand out under the paint, when it is too late to put them right. A base coat unifies a surface made up of different materials and shows up unsanded seams in time. Apply the masking tape only to a dry coat and lift it off carefully at a sharp angle so that it does not take an edge with it. Close the bottle right after work and keep it dry and away from frost, otherwise the paint dries at the neck and the cap stops seating properly.
