A liquid pigment on an enamel base in a blue shade designated Psychic Blue. Colored dust to be brushed on straight from the bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A liquid pigment is a fine powder already mixed into a binder. Here the binder is an enamel base, which can be thinned and redissolved with mineral spirits. Compared with a powder pigment, which has to be fixed separately, this deposit holds on the surface by itself and once dry it stays flat and barely grainy. The shade is blue, so it does not belong among the usual dusts and rusts but among colored effects.
A blue tone suits everywhere a surface is meant to read as cold or unreal: on the bases of fantasy and science fiction figures, on icy and frost-covered areas, into the shadows of a snowy landscape or as a cast around glowing elements. On classic military equipment it is used sparingly, as a cold counterpart to warm brown deposits, so that the dirtying does not look all one color.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use, or the settled pigment will stay at the bottom. Apply it with a soft brush to a perfectly dry surface, ideally over a protective coat of varnish, because an enamel carrier can bite into the paint beneath it. Before the deposit dries it can be drawn out across the surface, knocked back or partly taken off with a cloth and mineral spirits. Meter heavy layers out carefully, because a saturated blue tone will cover detail faster than earthy shades.
For figure painters and diorama builders who work with colored effects and want to apply them quickly with the option of fine-tuning them while wet. The model, a brush and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
