OILBRUSHER from AMMO of Mig Jimenez is an oil paint thinned straight to a modeling consistency and sealed in a bottle holding 10 ml whose cap contains a fine brush. You apply the paint straight onto the model, with no palette and no thinning. The Red shade is a saturated red used in modeling mainly as an undertone rather than as a covering coat. It is neither an acrylic nor an enamel: it is an oil paint on a solvent base that is thinned and blended with odorless thinner or mineral spirits, never with water. This product is modeling chemistry, not a kit.

Use

• Rust and corrosion: red is the basis of realistic rust tones; mixed with brown and ocher it gives a lively rather than flat rust.
• Dried and faded paint: red finishes on vehicles and ships age unevenly, and dotting and blending imitate that faithfully.
• Warm undertones: bringing a little red into brown, beige and ocher areas brings them to life and takes away dull uniformity.
• Warning and signal elements: picking out small red details, markings and lettering straight with the brush from the cap.
• Mixing: it blends easily with other oil paints and suits mixing your own rusty and brown shades.

Who it is for

For modelers building military vehicles, ships, aircraft, dioramas and sci-fi who want to work with depth and aging over a base coat. It is applied to a cured, varnished surface, where the excess can then be blended or wiped away cleanly without the coat beneath suffering. Slow drying is an advantage here: you have plenty of time to blend the paint, soften it and fine-tune the effect.
