An injection-molded plastic kit of the small French passenger car Simca 5 in period military service, in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is a new tooling with pleasing detail: separate door parts with a choice of open or closed side windows, clear parts for the glazing, a well worked-out chassis and a driver figure. Several marking options are usually included in the box.
The Simca 5 was a small French passenger car that made its debut in March 1936 (it was a license-built counterpart of the Italian Fiat 500 Topolino). After the occupation of France the German army seized large numbers of these cars and used them as staff and liaison vehicles for carrying personnel and for courier duties. The small, economical car suited these tasks well.
First assemble and paint the chassis and the interior, and only then seat the body - on a passenger car the inside is clearly visible. Glue the plastic with a liquid modeling cement and fix the glazing with a glue for clear parts so that it does not fog. Spray the body over a primer; small civilian cars in period service wore either their original civilian finishes or a uniform military color. A gloss coat, a fine wash and restrained weathering give the model a convincing look in scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
